After research study closeout or completion of an educational activity, residual funds may remain. Some accounts may have funds remaining from gifts or other unrestricted grants not associated with a specific project. If there is no activity on any given account for the period of a year, the member will be contacted to determine an appropriate plan for expenditure.
If an inactive account has $100 or less and there is no plan to spend the funds in a timely way, the fund may be merged with that of a collaborator or other member. If there is no recommendation for either expenditure or merger, the funds will be utilized for general research support, as provided for by the Board of Trustees.
